Today is Groundhog Day! Groundhog Day is in February on February 2nd. This is when the groundhog sees his shadow or does not see his shadow. When he sees his shadow, he gets scared and he climbs back in his burrow. This means that we will have more winter. When he doesn't see his shadow, it means that we will have early spring.
We watched a video today about Groundhog Day. The President of the Groundhog Club holds a stick to hear the groundhog. If the President of the Groundhog Club puts his stick down then he can't understand Groundhogese. The groundhog's name is Phil. This morning Phil said there would be six more weeks of winter.
