This week we had a book fair and Family Fun Night! At the book fair we picked out books. At the book fair they had pencils and book marks to buy too. In the book fair they had a book that we have been reading in our classroom. That book is Junie B., First Grader: Turkeys We Have Loved and Eaten (and Other Thankful Stuff). On Thursday, we had Family Fun Night at Oakland. We had a dance party at Family Fun Night. We could also play in the gym. There were monster shoes to run in. The monster shoes were actually flippers so you had to use your imagination. In Family Fun Night there were papers with a QR code on them in the hallway and the gym. If you scanned the code and answered the questions, you could get a prize. You could make a book mark at Family Fun Night too. Family Fun Night and the book fair are fun.
This week we wrote Lost Animal Posters. We drew lots of good animals on our posters. These are some of the animals we drew. We drew a hedgehog, an octopus, a cat, a bunny, and lion. Some of us did pets that are silly and funny like a lion or a dolphin. We wrote sentences to explain what the pet's name is, what they liked to do, what color it was, and how to return it. We hung the posters in our classroom.
This week we've been learning about food chains. A food chain always starts with a plant because it makes its own food. The food chains are when animals eat other animals and plants. For example, a plant would come first and what eats the plant would come second, what eats what's eating the plant would come third, and so on. A predator is what we call an animal that hunts other animals. For example, a wolf would hunt a rabbit. You can use food chains to tell what animals are predators. Food chains are food to learn.
This week was fun. Next week will be short. We will try to write a blog if we have time. Please send us more comments.
