We have sad news about Pipsqueak. On Thursday, Mrs. Heinonen's son Avery found that Pipsqueak had a big bump on her throat. Mr. Heinonen is a zoo keeper and he said it was a tumor, which meant Pipsqueak might have cancer. The bump got a little bigger on Friday. On Saturday, when Mrs. Heinonen & her son Blake visited Pipsqueak, she was squeaking when they held her and seemed like she was in pain. Sadly, Pipsqueak passed away on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Heinonen and her family buried Pipsqueak in their backyard. Pipsqueak is buried under a tree so no one can step on her. We love Pipsqueak very much and we will miss her so much!
We found a grub in our classroom this morning! We've never had a grub in the classroom before. We wonder where it came from. We did some research and learned that grubs turn into beetles! In the winter, they go a meter down into the ground so they don't die. In the spring, they come out and become beetles. Then they lay 15-20 eggs. We named our grub Grubby. We went outside to find a good place for him with lots of dirt but not grass or plants. That way, he won't eat them. We hope he lives all winter long! Here are some pictures of our Grubby Adventure!
