This week we had moving day! We moved a lot of things. Mr. Rexroat moved all of our old desks out. We replaced our desks with new furniture. We have benches, some tables, floor pillows, stools, and beanbags. We also have a rolling cart for our pencils, crayons, and erasers. Mrs. H organized the furniture. She changed her desk, too. Our room looks much different. We can now move through the room more easily. We can now sit any where that is a successful spot during any time we need to work. We were surprised with how the room looked. Most of us really like the new room. We are still rearranging our space to make it just right. Look at the pictures to see if you can find some of our favorite spots!

We had a magnificent week! On the 14th it was someone's birthday. We learned about weather. We don't have assigned seats anymore.
On the 14th it was someone's birthday. It was Joe's bundle birthday. This means we bundle ones into a group of ten on a birthday. It was our 140th day of school. Joe brought donuts for a birthday treat. We learned about the weather. We took a test about the weather together today. We learned that some clouds are gray and then it rains. When it's a sunny day at the ocean, it makes water vapor and that makes clouds. It is part of the water cycle. We learned that some clouds come to the ground and that is called fog. The white fluffy clouds that are up in the sky mean that it is not going to rain. These are some things we learned about weather. We don't have assigned seats anymore. That means we can sit anywhere we want as long as it's a successful spot. We can sit on the carpet, in a beanbag, at the desks, on the floor, or we can even stand at a counter or a desk. Some of us think this makes it harder to get to stuff, but some of us don't. Most of us think it is going well. Next week, we are having "moving day." On "moving day," our desks will be moved out of our room. This will happen on Wednesday after school, so we will see it on Thursday morning! We are excited and think that moving day will be totally awesome, wonderful, and epic. Some people, though, are a little nervous--but that's okay! Mrs. H will help us! Read the next blog to see what will replace our desks! We had an epic week! We had a guest come to our classroom this week. We made flowers for Mrs. Newby this week. We had a butterfly but we released it.
We had a guest come to our classroom. He was telling us about his autism. His name is Avery. He told us that it was hard for him to speak to other people. That is one thing that Avery told us about autism. We made flowers for Mrs. Newby this week. We were making the flowers for Mrs. Newby because it was almost her birthday. It was Mrs. Newby's birthday on Friday, but Mrs. Newby wasn't here on Friday, so we celebrated her on Thursday. Mrs. Heinonen brought a present for Mrs. Newby from our class and some friends also brought Mrs. Newby presents. Mrs. Newby was happy when we surprised her with the birthday snack and flowers. We had a butterfly but we released it. Our butterfly was in the chrysalis for a long, long time. He had colorful wings that were black and orangish-yellowish. Mrs. Heinonen held the butterfly when it was time to let him go. Those are some of the epic things that happened this week. Next week we will have a bundle birthday...you should come back then! |
